Project Overview

Monte is a men’s hair care brand co-founded by model and influencer James Edward. Since launching in October 2025, the brand has grown rapidly, propelled by viral Instagram Reels that surpassed 32 million impressions in just four months. We partnered with Monte to create a high-performance Shopify experience that supported their momentum and maximised conversion.

Messaging & Typography

Before diving into the web design itself, we first established two foundational elements that would shape the entire experience.


The first was the messaging hierarchy. By analysing existing website copy, customer reviews, and social media comments, we uncovered the key objections, pain points, and functional and emotional benefits that mattered most to Monte’s audience, and brought them to the forefront of the site.


The second was typography. While the brand already had a defined logo and colour palette, its type system hadn’t yet been formalised. We refined this by using the logo font for headings, paired with Pragmatica Extended for body copy. Its clean, geometric structure and wide letterforms created a strong yet understated balance with the headline type.

Imagery

With the messaging and typography in place, we moved on to defining the site’s visual direction. This centred around two types of imagery: product shots created in-house with the help of AI, and lifestyle photography captured by Jess Segal.

Web Design

While the site required a full redesign, two areas became clear priorities: social proof, and a seamless, persuasive subscription experience rooted in consumer psychology.


We strengthened social proof by showcasing well-known figures who use the brand in a dedicated carousel, linking directly to their Instagram profiles. Customer reviews were also placed prominently in product sections and across the product detail pages.


The subscription experience was designed to minimise friction and maximise perceived value. By highlighting key benefits, framing pricing clearly, and pairing this with transparent terms and strategic reassurances, we built confidence at the point of purchase.

Impact

Since launch, Monte has already seen strong early improvements across key conversion and engagement metrics. As the site has only gone live recently, a full performance analysis is still underway, with detailed results to follow.
